Tour Description

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake
We pick you up early from your hotel and drive to Mollepata for breakfast, then continue to Soraypampa (3,900 m), where the trek begins. After lunch, we hike to the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200 m), known for its deep turquoise waters and glacier views. We return to camp for dinner and spend the night at our high-altitude campsite under the stars.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Chaullay
Today is the most challenging but also the most rewarding. We hike up to the Salkantay Pass (4,630 m / 15,190 ft), the highest point of the trek, with breathtaking views of the snowcapped Andes. After some time at the top, we descend into a warmer, greener zone toward Chaullay, where we camp surrounded by waterfalls and lush forest.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 3: Chaullay – La Playa – Lucmabamba
We continue our descent through the high jungle, passing by coffee, banana, and avocado plantations. After lunch in La Playa, we head to Lucmabamba, where you can enjoy an optional coffee tour and learn about traditional farming. Optional visit to hot springs in Cocalmayo (extra cost).
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 4: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes
We hike along an original Inca trail to the Llactapata ruins, offering a distant but spectacular view of Machu Picchu. After exploring the site and enjoying lunch with a view, we descend to Hidroeléctrica and either walk or take a short train ride to Aguas Calientes, where we spend the night in a hotel.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 5: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco
After an early breakfast, we take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the Inca citadel. You’ll explore the most iconic areas and have free time to wander or hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional – advance booking required). In the afternoon, take the train to Ollantaytambo, then a private transfer back to Cusco.
