This half-day tour to the Sillustani archaeological site offers a fascinating journey into the pre-Inca and Inca funerary traditions. Located on a peaceful peninsula of Lake Umayo, Sillustani is famous for its chullpas, large cylindrical stone tombs built by the Colla culture and later used by the Incas. These impressive structures were designed to house the remains of elite families and nobles.
Surrounded by stunning high-Andean landscapes and mirror-like waters, this short excursion from Puno is both culturally enriching and visually captivating. It’s an ideal tour for those with limited time who still want to experience the ancient mystique of Peru’s altiplano.
