Discover two of the Sacred Valley’s most fascinating sites in a single trip: the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray, believed to have been an Inca agricultural laboratory, and the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a dazzling complex of over 3,000 salt pools still in use since pre-Inca times. This half-day tour from Cusco blends history, ancestral engineering, and breathtaking landscapes.
We begin the journey at around 8:30 a.m., picking you up from your hotel in Cusco and heading towards the Sacred Valley. Our first stop is Moray, a unique set of circular Inca terraces used to experiment with crops in different microclimates.
Next, we’ll visit the picturesque town of Maras before continuing to its famous salt mines—a stunning network of more than 3,000 pools fed by an underground spring, used for salt production since ancient times. You’ll have time to explore, take photos, and, if you wish, purchase natural salt products directly from local producers.
At around 12:30 p.m., we’ll begin the return trip to Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m..
