Choquequirao, known as the “Sacred Sister of Machu Picchu,” is an impressive archaeological site perched high in the mountains of the Apurímac Canyon. This private 4-day trek combines spectacular landscapes, rich biodiversity, and Inca culture along less-traveled trails. Perfect for travelers seeking an authentic experience away from the most crowded tourist routes.




Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Playa Rosalina
We’ll pick you up early (5:00 a.m.) from your hotel in Cusco and drive to the Capuliyoc viewpoint (2,900 m / 9,514 ft), where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Apurímac Canyon. From here, begin a 4-hour downhill hike to Playa Rosalina (1,500 m / 4,921 ft), where we’ll set up camp.
Day 2: Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao
After breakfast, start a challenging ascent to Marampata, taking in panoramic views of the canyon and subtropical vegetation. After lunch, continue hiking until we reach Choquequirao (3,050 m / 10,007 ft) to explore part of the archaeological complex. Dinner and overnight camping near the site.
Day 3: Choquequirao – Playa Rosalina
We’ll spend the morning exploring the agricultural terraces, temples, and platforms of Choquequirao, guided by an expert who will explain its history and significance. After lunch, we’ll begin the descent back to Playa Rosalina for our final night of camping.
Day 4: Playa Rosalina – Capuliyoc – Cusco
Make the final ascent back to Capuliyoc, enjoying one last view of the canyon. From there, we’ll return to Cusco by private transport, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
