The Inca Jungle Trail is one of the most exciting and versatile routes to Machu Picchu. It combines mountain biking, trekking, zip-lining, and hot springs, taking you through landscapes that range from high Andean mountains to lush Amazon jungle. Perfect for adventure lovers seeking a mix of adrenaline, nature, and culture in a single trip, this journey culminates with a visit to the legendary Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.




Day 1: Cusco – Abra Málaga – Santa María
We’ll pick you up from your hotel around 6:00 a.m. and travel by bus to Abra Málaga (4,316 m / 14,160 ft). From here, start a thrilling 3-hour downhill mountain biking adventure into the high jungle. In the afternoon, you can opt for an exciting rafting excursion on the Vilcanota River. Dinner and overnight stay in a local guesthouse in Santa María.
Day 2: Santa María – Santa Teresa
After breakfast, we’ll begin trekking along ancient Inca trails, passing coffee, cacao, and tropical fruit plantations. Enjoy lunch in a local community before continuing to Santa Teresa, where you can relax in the thermal baths of Cocalmayo (optional). Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day 3: Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, you’ll have the option to try zip-lining before continuing to Hidroeléctrica for lunch. From there, enjoy a scenic 3-hour walk along the railway tracks to reach Aguas Calientes. Dinner and overnight stay in a 3★ hotel.
Day 4: Machu Picchu – Cusco
Early in the morning, take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a 2-hour guided tour covering the main temples, terraces, and viewpoints. You’ll have free time to explore or climb Huayna Picchu/Machu Picchu Mountain (optional, advance ticket required). In the afternoon, return by train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer to Cusco.
