This 3-day Colca Canyon trekking tour is ideal for those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty, culture, and wildlife of this stunning region. Unlike the 2-day version, this trek allows you to explore more of the canyon at a relaxed pace, with time to connect with the locals, appreciate breathtaking scenery, and enjoy an overnight stay in the famous Sangalle Oasis.
You’ll walk through remote Andean villages, descend into the heart of the canyon, cross hanging bridges, and finish with a rewarding ascent. This route is perfect for travelers with a moderate level of fitness who prefer to explore gradually and soak up the experience.




03:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa. We drive to Chivay for a quick breakfast and continue to the Cruz del Cóndor, where you’ll witness the incredible flight of the Andean condors.
Around 09:30 AM, we reach the town of Cabanaconde, where our hike begins.
We descend approximately 1,100 meters to San Juan de Chuccho, enjoying dramatic landscapes and a close view of the canyon walls.
Lunch and time to relax in a family-run lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay in a rustic, comfortable guesthouse.
After breakfast, we hike along the canyon floor, passing through the villages of Cosñirhua and Malata, where you’ll see traditional agricultural terraces and learn about local customs.
We continue to the Sangalle Oasis, a lush valley with palm trees and natural pools located at the bottom of the canyon.
Free afternoon to relax, swim, and enjoy the tranquility of this unique spot.
Dinner and overnight stay in an eco-lodge in Sangalle.
Early in the morning (04:30 AM), we begin the ascent back to Cabanaconde. The climb takes around 3 to 4 hours and is the most challenging part of the trek.
Breakfast in Cabanaconde, then we take our private transportation back to Chivay.
Optional visit to La Calera hot springs for a well-deserved soak (entrance not included).
Lunch in Chivay and return to Arequipa with scenic stops along the high Andean route.
Arrival in Arequipa around 5:00 – 6:00 PM.
